US Tax Liberty took $2000.00 and did nothing.

I had an agreement with US Tax Liberty to help me with some back tax returns and negotiate with the IRS.They wanted their money on an aggressive pay schedule, $3750 over a six month period.

I told them they would get their money in the time frame some months may be less some more. They took almost $2000.00 and dropped me as a client.

I did not here that from them they won't return my calls, I got a letter from the IRS and they told me.I am writing letters to the Bar Association and the Better Business Bureau!

US Tax Liberty - Took my money and did nothing

Cory Davis is a *** and a *** artist.Don't ever go to a company that involves him.

He took my $600.00 in July and August and did nothing else. He lied numerous times to me over the phone and I knew he was a ***, but he had my money and paperwork and I hoped I was wrong. Even now, with the phones all disconnected and no web site, he claims they're not out of business. I just want my money and paper work back.

I am going to every website and BBB to file a complaint.

He's one of those arrogant jerks who think they know better than anyone else.Save yourselves and don't get involved in anything he does.

US Tax Liberty - Legal but not very ethical

Update by user Jul 24, 2011

After filing a complaint with the Newport Beach Better Business Bureau I got a phone call from Cory Davis, the company\'s CEO. He chewed me out for not calling him first and then told me I could forget about any refunds for the fees they got from me.

Once again. Avoid these people like the plague. They do exactly what they say they will do, which is nothing you cannot do for yourself better than they can do. If you have tax problems call the IRS first. If you need help get a reputable CPA or Tax attorney. Don\'t fall for these scam artists.

What really sucks here is that these guys operate just inside the letter of the law and offer now legal recourse against them.

They are total and completely unethical, but in a legal way.

US Tax Liberty is a tax resolution firm. If you have tax problems they may call you and offer their services. They are based in Newport Beach, California but their web site and emails will never tell you that. All you get is emails from "cpa@ustaxliberty.com", or their 800 number and the name of a CPA who happens to be the president and owner of the company.

These guys charge you $600 up front to review your tax situation. That does nothing but looks at your situation. They did not do an indepth review of my taxes or find a glaring error that cause me to owe a small fortune.

All they did is tell me that if I sent them an additional $3200 (prices will vary) that they would negotiate a payment plan or possibly an offer and compromise with the IRS for me. They did nothing with the state of California and it turns out that was extra even though their salesman verbally told me that it would. Hey it wasn't in writing.

Turns out they did nothing and offered to do nothing that I or any other tax payer can't do for themselves. If you really need help first get a CPA to review your taxes, then get a tax lawyer if you need help to negotiate.

Don't use these guys. They do not break any laws, they do exactly what they say they will, just not very well, and they don't seem to find tax errors in their $600 review. It took my current CPA less than 5 minutes to find the error in my case.

Christopher, you should tell Cory David your position. As I see it you guys are total and completely legal but unethical providing no benefit to your clients, but taking between $600 and $5000.

I hired a reputable CPA who resolved my problems by reviewing my tax returns, looking up the law that caused the problem, and filing amemnded returns. Your people didn't even look at the returns! Nor did you find the error made by my original tax preparer.

All your people did is file some form with the IRS (you didn't even address the State of California -- which I was subsequently told was an extra cost item) and offer to fill out offer and compromise forms.

All of which I could have done myself!

Greetings all!!My name is Chris Everett, and I am the CPA, President & CEO of US TAX LIBERTY.

Allow me to start off by saying that upon reading this unconfirmed complaint, my immediate reaction was anger. Trust me no business owner wants a bad name. I would like to extend my sincerest apologies to this person and would like to offer this person there refund of $600.00. Our tax team at US TAX LIBERTY strive to please every, and, I mean every individual client with there with tax resolution needs.

Fortunately we also have had lots of positive feed-back from current clients on blogs like pissed consumer and other sites. To the person who wrote this complaint.. Our firm does not know who you are nor have you raised your concerns with me or my firm, so please contact me at 951.842.5681 this is my personal number, lets get this resolved! I must say After doing several hours of research through 6 months worth of files I could not find 1 California client that voiced concerns our services, after all, our Better Business Bureau rating still stands at an A+.

After going back and reading the complaint, I began to question the legitimacy of this person, after all our fee IS THE MOST FEASIBLE IN THE INDUSTRY (ALLOWING INSTALLMENT PAY PLANS FOR OUR CLIENTS OVER AS LONG AS A YEAR FOR SERVICES WE PERFORM IN 60 DAYS) but $600.00 up front?? Not only is that lower than the big firms ($4,000.00 to 5,000.00 up front) our minimum fee would never be initiated up front...

Also this person stated "get a tax lawyer if you need help to negotiate". My colleagues are tax attorneys and trust me when I say not only will it cost a small fortune to hire an attorney $450.00 an hour, but you most like will not seek there help until you go through one of the following. Criminal tax evasion, your are suing the IRS, you are going through an audit that involves 7 figures, or you are doing business internationally. I can sit here and discredit this person's complaint, but at the end of the day, I assure you there are 2 things my firm is good at!

1. TAX RESOLUTION 2. WE DO NOT B.S.

OUR CLIENTS.Once again if this is a legitimate complaint then I am truly sorry and will make this right, but if this is another company attempting to discredit US TAX LIBERTY then simply, shame on you, and good luck!

I'm a owner operator. i haven't filed my taxes in a few years. And the IRS says that i owe 20 grand. now i was told that i could file an OIC and The IRS would accept $1, 500 instead. Now that sounds too good to be true... is it?

Response: Yes, Offer In Compromise is real program. The qualifications for an Offer In Compromise are very stringent and only apply to a small group of tax payers.

"In most cases, the IRS will not accept an OIC unless the amount offered by the taxpayer is equal to or greater than the reasonable collection potential (RCP). The RCP is how the IRS measures the taxpayer’s ability to pay and includes the value that can be realized from the taxpayer’s assets, such as real property, automobiles, bank accounts, and other property. The RCP also includes anticipated future income, less certain amounts allowed for basic living expenses." -irs.gov

@whisperingeyelvr

it may be possible for you to to qualify if you have retired/ are no longer working. But, there is a much simpler and faster way to eliminate a large portion of the $20, 000 that you owe. Send me an email with your contact information and best time to get a hold of you. cpa@ustaxliberty.com

If you do taxes in Tucson just stay away from Nancy who owns 3 offices there. She is a liar, cheater, and downright nasty to customers.

Her reputation was bad enough to think I could not escape this horrible person but I found a location in East Tucson that was excellent & prompt.Nancy is a potty mouthed liar & has caused many people to file online.

@sweetypiejohnson

Offer in Compromise (OIC) is a real program from the IRS. However most people DO NOT qualify. Not to worry, often times if you owe back taxes there are still options for you.

But keep in mind, there is no miracle solution to tax problems and if you truly do owe the IRS and have the ability to, then you will have to pay your obligation.
